Talia Tribute

The Pioneer Endicott story is a story of evolution featuring dozens of protagonists, as each chapter of its rich history is unveiled:

Cass Gilbert led the architectural design for The Endicott back in 1890, before setting his sights on the Minnesota State Capitol.

Owner, Watson David brought St. Paul’s first skyway connecting the Federal Courts Building to the Pioneer Press Building in 1967.

Occupancy rates in the 1970s rose to all-time highs under the guidance of John Mannillo, as he worked feverishly to save the original stained glass ceiling.

PAK Enterprises is responsible for the latest, most dramatic, and on-going evolution we enjoy today.  Just weeks before suffering irreparable damage from the heat being turned off, Clint Blaiser and Richard Pakonen enacted their ambitious plan for renovating The Pioneer Endicott Buildings into the luxury downtown living space it is today.

Its rich and colorful history over the past 150 years has made The Pioneer Endicott much more than a footnote in the story of St. Paul and events taking place in-and-around Lowertown.  Thanks to the tremendous efforts of St. Paul native and talented author, Talia Schmitz, stories put forth on these pages and through various social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google+ and Pinterest – offer a glimpse inside these walls; while becoming synonymous with “What’s Happening” in Lowertown, St. Paul and the Twin Cities in general.  Through her stories, Talia has cultivated a large audience eager to engage with us!  For that, we owe her our gratitude and reserve a place for her alongside other Pioneer Endicott “Pioneers” those that are mentioned here and the hundreds that are not.

Today we announce the latest evolutionary chapter in The Pioneer Endicott Buildings’ great story, as we bring our Blog and Social Media strategies in-house.  While working to maintain and build upon our reputation as the source for arts & entertainment, dining, current events, and serving as a conduit for many Lowertown and St. Paul professional partners - these pages will reflect the passion held by our residents and by our staff, whose privilege it is to contribute to their Legendary Downtown Living experience.
