Celebrate The Last Weeks of Summer in St. Paul!

Summer always flies by much too quickly! We're mid-July right now, and the days are long and hot so we're soaking up as much fun as we can before September hits. We want YOU to do the same, so we've compiled a list of can't-miss activities and events in St. Paul happening now through the end of August. Enjoy!


What: Minnesota's largest gathering of food trucks in one location! Live music, tons of food, and local beers complete the awesome event of 40+ food trucks.
Where: 150 N. Smith Ave, St. Paul MN, 55102
When: July 25th, 11:00am - 9:00pm.
Price: $2 admission. Food and drink are extra. 
What: A free day of concerts at Mears Park featuring Blues artists like Elvin Bishop, Walter Trout, Lisa Wenger, and much more! This will be the second annual Lowertown Blues Festival, and this year promises more food, more vendors, and more music!
Where: Mears Park
When: July 25th, 12:00pm - 10:00pm - rain or shine!
Cost: FREE!

What: Benefiting Ronald McDonald House Charities in the Upper Midwest, the RBC Race for the Kids Minnesota Half Marathon is an event for everyone! Whether you are running in shoes or gliding on skates, or even participating by doing a relay, it's sure to be a great time.
When:  August 1st, 6:00am - 12:00pm

What: A favorite event at Pioneer Endicott! A celebration of your four-legged friends on Grand Avenue! Businesses along Grand Ave partner with local rescue groups to pamper and celebrate your pets. Gather up giveaways, relax on a pet-friendly patio, learn about pet adoption, support rescue groups, and pose for the popular pet photo contest!
When: August 2nd, 11:00am - 3:00pm
Cost: FREE!




What:  The Nation's largest free Irish Fair! Celebrate authentic Irish heritage through activities such as step dance, gaelic sports, a Celtic marketplace, native Irish dogs, a traditional tea room, Irish food (and drink of course), and much more! Also included in the celebration is the Color Me Irish 5K and Zero K!
When: August 7th - 9th
Cost: FREE!
What: A celebration of one of America's most beloved instruments: the guitar. McNally Smith College of Music presents the 3rd Annual Lowertown Guitar Festival as a day of free outdoor music, offering something for all tastes. Headliners include Greg KochJohnny A.JD SimoGuthrie Trapp, and many more! Last year's festival doubled in size, and this year promises to be the biggest yet.

When: August 8th, 2:00pm - 10:00pm
Cost: FREE!
* McNally Smith will be hosting free guitar workshops on its campus in the early afternoon prior to the concerts. Register here.
What: The first offline celebration of online cat videos, now in its fourth year,  is a live event gathering fellow feline fanatics to watch a curated collection of cat clips in a social environment.
Where: CHS Field
When: August 12th, 6:30pm - 10:00pm
Cost: $10, $8 for Walker Art Center members, $6 ages 6-12, free for ages 5 and under with paid adult. Purchase tickets here.
* So far, on Facebook, over 16,000 people are planning to attend!

What: A special Civil War Sesquicentennial event that recreates what homecoming was like for Minnesota's soldiers and their loved ones. Explore the fort with costumed staff and re-enactors and visit interactive learning stations. Demonstrations include cannon and musket firings, speeches, military ceremonies, and more. 
When: August 15th - 16th, 10:00am - 5:00pm
Cost: $11 adults, $9 seniors and college students with ID, $9 active military with ID, $6 children ages 6-17, free for children 5 and under and MNHS members.

What: Experience Greek food, dance, music, activities and more without even leaving the city!
When: August 22nd, 11:00am - 8:00pm and 23rd, 11:00am - 6:00pm
Cost: FREE to attend.

What: The largest state fair in the United States by average daily attendance, and the 2nd largest state fair in the United States by total attendance! In addition to being a showcase for Minnesota's finest agriculture, art, and industry, the fair features hundreds of entertainment options including music, educational exhibits, more than 60 carnival rides, thousands of competitions, and more than 450 different foods!
When: August 27th - September 7th

What: Races just for the ladies!  Awesome gear at the Expotique, stained-glass medals at the finish line, and a post-race party with bubbly.
Where: Downtown St. Paul
When: August 28th and 29th
Cost: Varies. Register here.
