Valentine's Day St. Paul 2015

This Saturday is February 14th, and every restaurant in the Twin Cities is already booked (unless you want dinner at 4pm or 11pm), and many of the 'bigger' events are sold out.  So perhaps try something different this year! We've rounded up a list of other Valentine's Day activities in St. Paul that are well-suited for singles, couples, friends, etc. And Don't forget to pick up the best chocolate in the world at Legacy Chocolates (they have special Valentine's Day items!) and a bottle or two of wine at neighboring Revival Wine Beer & Spirits, both in the Pioneer Endicott Building.

Minnesota Sinfonia - Eric Silberger
What: Eric Silberger is a prize-winner of the 14th International Tchaikovsky Competition and the Michael Hill International Violin Competition in 2011. He has performed as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician around the world. This program features Eric on the violin with works by Haydn and Svendsen, and by Minnesota-based composer Yue Lor.

Valentine's Day Themed Concert at the Baroque Room
What: Titled 'Portrait of Love: Les Delices,' this special Valentine's Day-themed concert features love songs and instrumental solos from seventeenth-century France. Les Delices (pronounced Lay Deh-LEASE) is the only group in the U.S. specializing in historically-informed performances of French Baroque chamber music.
When: February 15th, 7:30pm

Bleeding Hearts Romp
What: "Bring your significant other and break up with them! Meet someone new! or not! Or celebrate your single awesomeness! Or cry in the corner! ROMP! It's a PARTY it's a PERFORMANCE it's a PERFORMANCE PARTY! ... It's the weirdest of cabarets followed by the wildest of dance parties ..."(Website description)

Unite: Twin Cities Women's Choir in Concert with Saakumu Dance Troupe
What: The Twin Cities Women's Choir welcomes the world-renowned traditional/contemporary dance and music troupe Saakuma from Ghana, West Africa to share the stage for a lively merging of cultures.
When: February 14th, 4:00pm
Where: Central Presbyterian Church
Cost: $20 - $25. Children 12 and under free. Purchase tickets here.

Ramsey After Dark: The Language of Love
What: This one hour Valentine's themed program discusses the 'secret messages' behind gifts from Victorian era suitors. There will also be freshly baked treats and Victorian courtship games in the parlor.
When: February 13th, 7:00pm and 8:30pm

Twin Cities Progressive Brew Pub Tour
What: A five-hour tour of local brewpubs in both Minneapolis and St. Paul. Each of the four stops includes food and drink, culminating  8 unique small plates with 16 different craft brews. There is round-trip luxury transportation and a take-home GetKnit pint glass.
When: February 14th, 11:00am

Saturday Brunch at the Minnesota History Center
What: Curated by Executive Chef Christian Pieper, the Minnesota History Center and Cafe Minnesota offer a beautiful Saturday brunch. Using sustainable ingredients from local farmers and artisans, the Saturday Brumch menu includes a details, beautiful menu with gourmet coffees, teas, and juices. Mimosas and Bloody Mary's are available for an additional cost.

Sample Saturday
What: Only offered once a month, Sample Saturday brings in local brewers and distillers so you can sample their products. The featured business this month is Far North Distillers.

Christos Valentine's Day Takeout
What: Celebrate Valentine's Day at home with fantastic food from Christo's. Fill out the online form by February 13th, and pick up your meal from 4:00pm - 9:00pm on February 14th!

Le Cirque Rouge Cabaret & Burlesque Show Valentine's Day
What: Le Cirque Rouge features the Twin Cities best burlesque performers. This specific performance includes a number of special guests and a comedy act!

A Prairie Home Companion

"Isn't it Romantic" Special Valentine's Jazz in The Lobby Bar
What: JoAnn Funk and Jeff Brueske welcome guest musician and acclaimed Twin Cities tenor Saxophonist, Pete Whitman. Pete will add his romantic jazz sound to this special Jazz in The Lobby Bar.
Where: This takes place in The Saint Paul Hotel around the lobby fireplace in the , which was voted the 7th most romantic spot in St. Paul!

Single Awareness Day Bar Crawl
What: Meet up with a group and hop from bar to bar in Lowertown for a day of drinking and fun! Couples are also welcome.

Beethoven's Ninth Symphony
What: The last in a series of Farewell Performances, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony represents the culmination of the SPCO's exploration of the complete Beethoven symphony cycle, with the SPCO Chorale joining the orchestra for the monumental, life-affirming Ninth Symphony.

Paul Harper Quartet
What: The Paul Harper Quartet features music written by the jazz greats and by the band members themselves. The band focuses on keen ensemble playing and an intuitive sense of interplay and immediacy. All members of the band have long and deep experience performing.

Valentine's Day Massacre Gangster Tour 
What: A special version of the twice weekly Historic Cave Tours at the Wabasha Street Caves.

The Color Purple
What: A Park Square Theatre production based upon the novel written by Alice Walker and the Warner Bros./Amblin Entertainment Motion Picture Book by Marsha Norman. The Color Purple is the tale of a woman triumphing over adversity, and a testament to the power of hope.
