Fourth of July Fireworks in St. Paul

"Fireworks have long been a part of our Independence Day celebration, and despite the flooding, I am excited that this important tradition will continue." - Mayor Chris Coleman, June 30, 2014

The show must go on folks! Mayor Coleman announced today that the new location for the St. Paul 4th of July firework show will be held at the State Capitol Mall.  Significant flooding on Harriet Island forced the City to make some last minute changes for any scheduled event, including A Taste of Minnesota, which was going to include the firework show.

With the new location comes new information. Here's what you'll want to know:
  • The fireworks will not be visible from the Mississippi River area, so everyone is encouraged to watch from The State Capitol Mall.
  • There are parking ramps around the area, but visitors are encouraged to take the light rail or bus. There are two stations just outside Pioneer Endicott
  • Roads from Rice Street to Cedar Street and from University Ave to 12th Street West will be closed to traffic.
  • The show begins at 10:00pm, and the Capitol Mall will be open to the public at 8:00pm.
  • It is suggested that visitors bring blankets.
  • Pre-packaged food and beverages will be allowed.
  • Grills, alcohol, and personal fireworks are prohibited.
  • This is a FREE event!
