MN Weekend Event Lineup: 10/25-27



1. Monster Dash
Half Marathon | 10 Mile | 5K

Whether you're running the half marathon, 5K, or simply spectating, you'll surely enjoy the beautiful St. Paul views and feel the energy of the city. Half Marathon & 10-Mile starts at 8:30 a.m. at the Cathedral in and the 5K starts at 9:00am.
Please keep in mind Saturday morning road closures and detours due to this event.
Here are some handy Spectator Tips.


2. 6th Annual Lowertown Entertainment District Boos Crawl and Costume Contest

Local bars like Barrio Lowertown, Black Dog Coffee and Wine Bar, Hat Trick, and Golden's Deli are all participating. Earn stamps on your passport to compete for the $500 Grand Prize!

The neighborhood fun starts on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 7:00pm.



3. Day of the Dead

Head over to the Minnesota History Center this Saturday to participate in the annual Day of the Dead celebration that includes:
 music, folkloric dancing, cooking demonstrations, traditional Mexican games, a skullmaking workshop, samples of traditional foods, beautiful ofrendas (altars), and tributes to those who have departed.

When: Saturday, Oct. 26 12:00-4:00pm
Included with museum admission.

4. Victorian Ghost Stories at James J. Hill House

Head over to the James J. Hill House to hear dramatic readings of 19th-century ghost stories in the dimly light parlor. The Oct. 26 and 27 program features stories by Edgar Allan Poe and others.  The presentation will be followed by a tour of the Hill House (included in admission).

Dates: Oct. 26, 2013 and Oct. 27, 2013
Time: 6:00pm and 7:30pm
Fee: $12/$10 for MHS members

Reservations recommended: register online (Not recommended for children under age 8).
